The following provides an overview of the process for preparing and submitting applications to external agencies that seek funding for facility improvements or new construction. Extramural entities (including federal agencies and private institutions) that provide funding programs to improve facilities typically require documentation pertaining to project scope, schedule, budget, and environmental impacts -- information which must be validated by University architects and planners prior to submittal. Further, consistent with authorities delegated by The Regents to campus officers, official submittal of any facility improvement grant proposal requires the signature of either the Chancellor or the Vice Chancellor, Resource Management and Planning. Also, if extramural funding entities require matching fund commitments, any department considering such a proposal should coordinate with and secure the concurrence of its cognizant Vice Chancellor.
